I am a licensed clinical psychologist (WA license #PY61390419, CA license #PSY30460) who provides psychotherapy for adults and older adolescents. I believe our culture doesn't do a great job teaching people about their mental health, and I'm on a mission to change that. In my role as a therapist, I work collaboratively with individuals to help them reach their personal goals and live more fulfilling lives. I partner with clients to take a deep dive and understand the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are getting in the way, then develop long-lasting tools to overcome those barriers and create a more meaningful life. I aim to honor multicultural differences and provide competent services to people from all backgrounds in everything that I do.

Training and Education

I worked on an eating disorders prevention project at Stanford University before going on to graduate school at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where I received my PhD in Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology. I completed my residency at UT Health San Antonio. While in San Antonio I worked with the STRONG STAR consortium, the world's largest research consortium for the detection, prevention and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) resulting from military combat trauma. I went on to a postdoctoral fellowship in primary care psychology at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Health Care System, where I worked with a team of health professionals and provided brief mental health services for patients in the doctor's office. This approach is a great way of bypassing stigma related to mental health and providing comprehensive healthcare in one location.

Through these experiences I gained my specializations in treating PTSD, complex trauma, and moderate to severe depression. I use Cognitive Processing Therapy to treat PTSD, which the American Psychological Association recognizes as one of the PTSD treatment approaches with the strongest level of evidence.

Career

My current focus is on my in-person therapy practice which is based in the Madison Valley neighborhood of Seattle. I also advise health tech startups including Manatee, Wave Life, and docbotic on their clinical approach and operations. Each of these companies is using technology to increase access to quality mental health services and support.

Previously, I worked as the Director of Population Health at SCAN Health Plan. At SCAN I led efforts to improve the mental and physical health of Medicare Advantage members. Prior to SCAN I held clinical operations leadership roles at several mental health tech companies including Mindstrong, Sesh, and Resilience Lab. I maintained my private practice throughout my time in the tech industry.
